Following October 7, the residents of Kibbutz Kfar Azza have faced significant upheaval. The community has been displaced and will undergo two more moves in the coming years. This uncertainty is particularly challenging for those with special needs.
In response, JNF Australia is committed to supporting the establishment of Amit Bakar, an assisted-living home for adults with autism. This facility will address a critical shortage of appropriate housing for individuals with autism. Amit Bakfar will provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for 6-12 adults, all of whom were born and raised in the area.
Residents will have the opportunity to participate in community activities, work locally, and engage with volunteers from the kibbutz. By fostering inclusion and offering employment opportunities, Amit Bakfar will help integrate its residents into the community.
