HABOYDEM
JNF is proud to be partnering with Haboydem, a unique second hand clothing store, which was established in July 2014. A social venture of the “Non-Profit Organisation for Rehabilitation and Integration”.
The main objectives are:
- To provide transitional employment training for people dealing with mental illness, who desire to return to a competitive workplace.
- To design a work program to suit each individual, offering short shifts when required. Each employee receives professional support from the staff occupational therapist and are paid a salary in line with the proposed bill for transitional employment programs.
- To provide each employee with on-job training encompassing all operational aspects of the store including sorting of clothes, customer service, and operating the cash register.
- To provide each employee with support in seeking a job in a normative work environment, tools and knowledge required for a job search, preparation for the job interview process, integrating into a new job and maintaining employment over time.
Other benefits of the Program:
- Employees work alongside volunteers and permanent staff, providing an integrative work environment.
- The concept of second-hand or vintage clothing has become very popular all over the world and the shop is an enjoyable, vibrant and fun place to be. Our employees want to come to work!
- We strive to only sell high quality clothes in our stores, with the balance being recycled.
- Encouragement of wise consumer behaviour, where good quality clothes can be bought at low cost.
