For our June talk, we are excited to welcome Freya Leach, a prominent young Australian political commentator and activist.
Currently, Freya is the Director of the Centre for Youth Policy and was the Liberal candidate for Balmain in the 2023 NSW Election. She recently completed her studies at the University of Sydney, with a background in macroeconomics from her work in equities research at UBS. Freya also maintains an active social media presence and is a sought-after guest speaker at events focused on youth and politics.
In her upcoming talk, Freya will share her personal journey as an activist and her deep connection to Israel. She will discuss her experiences standing up against prevailing narratives, the challenges of engaging with young people and non-Jews about Israel, and the importance of addressing misconceptions about Zionism. Freya will also provide a broader perspective on Israel’s role in the world, the threat of antisemitism to Australian values, and the crucial role non-Jewish allies play in advocating for Israel. Through stories of coexistence, humanitarian efforts, and intergenerational dialogue, she will explore shared resilience in the fight against antisemitism.
We look forward to seeing you there!
