| Ariel is a young leader whose vision, passion, and action have already left a lasting mark on the Jewish community in Australia and beyond. His ability to respond in times of crisis, build new frameworks for Jewish life, and empower the next generation of leaders makes him a truly outstanding candidate for this recognition.
Operation Golda: Leadership in youth programs- ZFA and Bnei Akiva: Ariel’s dedication to Jewish continuity has been equally evident through his long-standing involvement in youth leadership and education. As a madrich with Bnei Akiva, he has guided and inspired countless young Australian Jews to strengthen their connection to Israel and Jewish values. He also served as a group madrich for the ZFA Arava–Bialik Exchange, a ten-day program that brought 12 Israeli teenagers from the Arava region to Melbourne to engage with every facet of Jewish communal life. Ariel played a pivotal role in running activities, guiding the participants, helping them build lasting bonds with their Australian counterparts from across Melbourne’s Jewish schools. Student support and innovation in AUJS: At the university level, Ariel has been a driving force within AUJS (Australasian Union of Jewish Students). As NSW Head of Politics, he represented Jewish students in meetings with university Vice Chancellors, navigating tensions on campus while advocating for safety and inclusivity, while also helping run major student events. In his current role as AUJS National Campaigns Coordinator, he has launched impactful initiatives across Australia, bringing in leading speakers, coordinating campaigns, and most notably establishing the AUJS Mentorship Program, which pairs emerging Jewish student leaders with established professionals across diverse fields. This program has already begun bridging the generational gap, equipping young Jews with the tools and guidance to succeed in their chosen careers while staying rooted in their Jewish identity. Looking forward: building opportunities for Jewish Youth Building on this success, Ariel is now in the process of launching Kesher, a Jewish networking community dedicated to providing safe and productive spaces to further young professionals. Starting from their launch event on October 28th, Kesher will create lasting opportunities for connection and empowerment, ensuring that young Jews remain engaged and supported as they transition from student life to professional and communal leadership. Through all of these roles, Ariel has demonstrated remarkable initiative, creativity, and commitment. He exemplifies what a true changemaker in the Jewish community means, in responding to urgent needs while also laying the groundwork for a vibrant Jewish future. |
