While working in journalism at a media agency in Sydney, Gali and her co founder recognised the ‎extreme isolation and profound need of people who experience homelessness. This prompted ‎them to come up with the idea of providing beautifully packaged boxes that include heartfelt ‎messages to those experiencing homelessness. These packages were designed not only to ‎provide material aid and assistance to those who need it but also to reduce the isolation and ‎increase connection. With this idea The Good Box was born. Since then, The Good Box has ‎grown significantly and now serves and collaborates with local communities across both ‎Queensland and Victoria. As a member of the Jewish community, Gali was inspired by the ideas ‎of Tikkun Olam which forms the basis for the organisation as a whole. Whilst The Good Box is not ‎specifically a Jewish organisation, through The Good Box, Gali has made significant efforts to ‎partner with the Jewish community providing assistance and encourage a stronger connection to ‎the values of Tikkun Olam and Chessed. Gali has worked closely with numerous Jewish ‎organisations across the sector including schools, shules, educational institutions and more. ‎Gali has worked closely with NJCWA Caring Mums program to assist new mums adjusting to life ‎with a new baby to provide them with necessary items to assist them in what for many new ‎mums can be a very lonely and stressful time. More recently, this has included women severely ‎impacted by October 7th and the ongoing war. Gali has partnered with many Jewish schools and ‎UJEB in Bar/Bat mitzvah program and generally to teach them about Tikkun Olam, homelessness ‎and to pack boxes together. By working with students, Gali is inspiring future generations to learn ‎about values that are so important to our community and put them into action. ‎
