Zichron Menachem
Zichron Menachem – The Israeli Association for the Support of Children with Cancer and Their Families – is the leading provider of support services to children in Israel under the age of 25 living with cancer, as well as their parents and siblings. Since 1998, they have supported 38,200 families who have a child with cancer.
Zichron Menachem offers a range of services including adventure camps, support for parents, help in hospitals, and a home away from home in their House of Dreams facility.
Zichron Menachem are in need of funding for a Modular Mobile Medical Clinic to accompany the children on camps and to hospitals. Currently the equipment is being stored in large fabricated metal containers. Transportation is expensive and setting up the clinic on-site is time consuming.
Mobile Medical Clinic Project will enable patients to leave their hospital bed with the comfort of knowing that they have a full medical unit and professional to attend to their personal needs within minutes. It will accompany the groups of cancer stricken children to events and camps across the country, and visit alternate hospitals on a weekly basis to pamper the children and their mothers from North to South of Israel.
The full-service medical clinic will be able to test blood and give drugs including IVs, infusion fluids and more. Without this comprehensive set up, these sick children would not be able to attend camps or be away from home.
The clinic will be able to treat eight patients simultaneously across two examination areas. A sophisticated blood lab will eliminate delays in treatment, and a fully stocked pharmacy will enable the immediate treatment of patients.
Zichron Menachem empowers the children, creates a support network and better opportunities for fun and leisure whilst still receiving high standards of medical care. Zichron Menachem provides genuine support and a greater opportunity to beat cancer and the many challenges that come along with it.
