What is Green Sunday?
JNF’s Green Sunday Campaign is held each year in February to coincide with Tu Bishvat – A New Year for the Trees!
The Green Sunday campaign has consistently raised funds for life-changing environmental projects in Israel.
The campaign is supported by an annual telethon – a day of fun, community and solidarity.
2023 Green Sunday Campaign
With your support we are planting hope in the heart of the Negev –
a Healing Garden at the Soroka Medical Centre (SMC) in Be’er Sheva.
Found deep in the heart of Israel’s South, SMC stands proudly as the largest hospital in the region. And the only one in the Negev.
Over one million residents, including 400,000 children, rely upon its care – all year round.
From ambulatory care to birthing suites, SMC supports the community with all its healthcare needs in routine times. And in emergencies.
In the last decade SMC has grown exponentially. It services up to 60% of Israel’s land area and provides vital care to all Negev’s diverse communities.
And the IDF soldiers.
With well being front of mind, came the need to rejuvenate the entrance to the hospital with a healing garden –
to bring hope and cure to thousands who use the centre daily.
The healing power of nature
The centre’s new healing gardens will appear like a mirage across the desert land, transforming the hospital access.
Built with ancient principles of irrigation called Limans, the unique design will allow the eco-systems to
withstand the driest of conditions and remain lush and green year-round.
From the moment patients and visitors walk in, they will know they are in a place like no other.
Inside and outside, people will be surrounded by hope.
More than just a garden
