The restoration of the Holit Playground is a project proudly supported by one donor from JNF Victoria who selected this project as an individual donation initiative.
Kibbutz Holit, a small but resilient community facing constant security threats. Despite these challenges, the kibbutz’s members have maintained a strong collective spirit and a self-sustained financial model that has helped them remain united.
However, the tragic Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, left 15 community members dead and six critically injured, while many buildings were destroyed or burned.
Rebuilding both the people and the place of Kibbutz Holit is a priority, and JNF Victoria has been a steadfast supporter, launching fundraising efforts to aid in this effort. Among the most vital projects is the restoration of the Holit Playground, a central gathering place for the community.
“We did not realise how much this project would lift the spirits of the kibbutz members. The children’s happiness is one of the most important things to return to Holit. Thank you for helping us with this,” said Oren Zvada, a member of the Holit planning committee.
This new outdoor playground is more than just a space for recreation; it will provide children with opportunities to explore their physical and cognitive abilities, build independence, and enhance their social skills. For the children of Kibbutz Holit, the playground is not just a place to play; it is a safe space to meet, connect, and experience childhood without constraints.
The restoration of the playground is a symbol of hope and resilience, helping to restore a sense of normalcy and joy for the community as they rebuild from the devastating attack. Through these efforts, JNF Victoria continues to stand by Kibbutz Holit, supporting the heart of the community as it heals and grows.
