JNForever NSW: The History of Jewish Music

Please join us for the next JNForever morning tea for a presentation and musical journey through the history of Jewish Music.

Len Mahemoff OAM will outline and trace the development of Jewish music from the time of the Temple till today. His examples will illustrate this important element of Jewish musical history. Len will be accompanied by Shirley Politzer OAM on piano, and renowned Sydney violinist, Leo Novikov.

About our entertainers:

Len Mahemoff OAM discovered he had a bass singing voice at age 40. He has done several radio recitals was a member of the Sydney Philharmonica. He is currently a soloist in the Central Synagogue choir and a member of the Jewish Choral Society.

Shirley Politzer OAM is well known in the Sydney Jewish Community as a pianist and choir and band conductor/director. She has received awards for “Services to the Community” and “Excellent Service to Scouting”.

Leo Novikov is a popular violinist and has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Centre and the Sydney Opera House.
