Tammy Lazarus was School Captain at Kesser Torah College (KTC) in 2019 where she excelled at creating a caring environment for all Girls’ High School students. She attended the college her whole schooling and saw value in developing a nurturing environment for future KTC students.
Tammy has been a Madricha (leader) at Bnei Akiva, one of Australia’s Zionist Youth Movements, for the last three years. She has a passion for educating the next generation of Jewish youth and giving back to the Jewish community. She has inspired many Bnei Akiva chanichim (participants) across a large age range and continues to find ways to grow the movement however she can.
Tammy was the Gizbarit (Treasurer) of the movement’s Sydney branch in 2022 which involved organising and implementing fundraisers and other initiatives to allow the movement to run to its full potential. Additionally, the role required working with community members and other communal organisations to organise major communal events.
She is currently the Merakezet (Director) of Bnei Akiva Australia which involves coordinating all three branches of the movement in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Furthermore, the role involves coordinating seminars, events and community initiatives on the federal scale, which is very rewarding for Tammy and her team.
Tammy has recently trained to be a volunteer responder for Community Health Support (CHS), combining her love for medicine and her passion for giving back to the community.
Tammy looks forward to giving back to the Jewish community in many other ways in the near future.
