Britt Foetschl has dedicated years of her recent life to consistent, critical voluntary work in the Sydney Jewish community.

She served as Logistics Chair for Limmud for years before assuming the top leadership position of Festival Chair in 2022, running a highly successful day of Jewish thought and culture attended by almost a thousand participants – which was the first major in-person Limmud event after the COVID lockdowns.

She has also contributed for years to Youth HEAR, an organisation dedicated to mitigating hate by preserving the memory of the Holocaust. She is currently Event Operations Officer, in which position she oversees all logistical elements of the organisation’s annual summit – many hours of liaising with providers, venues and more.

Most significantly, Britt is Logistics Officer for SHIR, the Australian Jewish Music Festival, having joined the executive community well over a year go. In this role, Britt consistently and tirelessly devotes many hours weekly to liaising with organisation partners and managing ticketing, communications and marketing campaigns. She is currently working towards SHIR’s first public event, Songs of Hope, on Sunday 6th October. This concert was created expressly to give hope to the Sydney Jewish community, a year after the October 7th massacre, and to uplift and strengthen it.

Britt is a passionate, dedicated, deeply committed volunteer within the Sydney Jewish community, deftly managing the logistical requirements for several significant communal bodies.
