Adam Began working with StandWithUs International in 2023 to start up their latest office down under. He has a profound passion for Israel education and let go of a position at a marketing firm to do this work. Today Adam holds the position of StandWithUs national leadership and programs manager.

Adam recognised the need in the community for strong advocacy and education about Israel and antisemitism and jumped on the opportunity to start up the organisation’s latest venture. He met with dozens of community leaders from Sydney and Melbourne, spreading the word about the arrival of StandWithUs in Australia, thereby strengthening community partnerships between various organisations.

During this time, Adam presented hour-plus-long StandWithUs workshops to over twenty different audiences, including high-school classes, community events, educator courses, young professionals and university students, covering a wide array of educational content including the history of antisemitism and how to identify it, to Israel’s conflicts from Avraham until today.

Following October 7 he established Australia’s first StandWithUs Emerson Fellowship, a prestigious one-year program that trains, educates, and empowers student leaders on university campsites around the world. Adam brought them to the annual StandWithUs International Conference in Los Angeles, and over the rest of the academic year, he mentored and facilitated monthly professional development sessions to ensure the next generation of Jewish students and cared and accounted for. More and more people from around the country reached out, seeking guidance and support, and he was fortunate enough to be able to provide that. Adam continued to educate around Australia, giving not only facts and information but hope and confidence that Jews can and should stand up to antisemitic hate, whenever and wherever they experience it.

Adam organised the first StandWithUs Australia event, bringing together over 100 young adults from Sydney to hear a perspective of October 7 from the ground, in Israel.

Over the next year, he continued to educate hundreds of Jews and non-Jews from all over the country and work closely with various other communal organisations. StandWithUs then hired their first executive director, Michael Gencher. They since organised a large rally at the University of Sydney whilst the encampments were in full swing, to stand up for Jewish students who had otherwise felt neglected, and for the first time in several months, Jewish students once again felt immense pride in wearing their Jewish symbols on campus once more.
