Join us to hear from Colonel Michael Scott, CSC, a serving Australian Army Officer who celebrated thirty years of service in March 2024. His extensive operational experience includes deployments to East Timor, Bougainville, Iraq, and two tours in Afghanistan. From July 2019 to September 2021, he served with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation in the Middle East, living in Jerusalem for 27 months with his wife, Dracaena. His mission encompassed Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt, where he gained valuable insights. Michael received the Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2023 Australia Day Honours for his contributions.
The October 7 and 9 events at the Opera House profoundly affected him. In July 2024, he founded The 2023 Foundation, dedicated to combating antisemitism, and is committed to partnering with others who share his mission.
